President Obama (via traveldown)
President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim June 2009 as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Pride Month. I call upon the people of the United States to turn back discrimination and prejudice everywhere it exists.

Not at all, Bush was a unilateral nut job. Obama is making calculated decisions based on a consensus of our allies. Big difference.
Sorry this took so long. Like, I legit apologize.
I think that the statements on Iraq are simply rhetoric, some upbeat words on Iraq. Iraq was a mistake, but the fact is that it’s pulling itself out of the violence of a few years ago, mostly because of a costly troop surge which annihilated the insurgents. Was this worth over a trillion dollars, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi casualties, and of course over 4,000 Americans dead. Not worth it.
On a smaller scale I agree with Ron Paul. I think we should have US troops in some strategic locations such as South Korea, Japan, etc. But do we need to occupy the entire world? No way.
As far as Libya goes, it’s totally different than Iraq. Look at the facts. The people were rising up, we stepped up to help them. Additionally we are fighting a war from the air, I don’t think Obama will ever commit significant ground troops. Finally we waited for an actual UN declaration making it “legal”. I think it was the right thing to do.
